| - Not bad for the price.
Short Version:
Pros:
Free breakfast and wifi
Large, clean room with hardwood floors and high ceilings
Cheapest price for parking compared to other hotels I researched
Cons:
Sheets were a low thread count
Wifi was really slow
Long Version:
Overall, I really liked the hotel. There wasn't a lobby area for the hotel (ie a place where you could sit, etc) but the Mezzanine floor had pool tables and tables and chairs where you could lounge.
When I was booking a hotel, I chose this one because it offered free wifi and breakfast and because the parking was reasonably priced ($14) compared to other places ($16-20) and included in and out privileges.
The parking was a little confusing because I didn't know if it was valet or self parking and I had no idea where the garage was. Turns out the garage associated with Holiday Inn Express is right on the corner of Euclid and 6th. I didn't see any signs saying that it was associated with Holiday Inn Express but it was night so maybe I missed it. A hanging sign above the garage would have been nice. The only reason I knew was because I called the hotel.
The breakfast included a wide variety of bread: bread, bagels, english muffins, biscuits, etc. Although at the time, it looked as though the only type of bagel available was raisin. In addition, there were also sausage patties and cheese omelets (which made for a delicious egg mcmuffin type sandwich), boiled eggs, yogurt. It would have been an extra bonus if they had hot sauce and flavored creamer for the coffee, but it was a good breakfast esp since it was free.
It was nice that we didn't have to pay for wifi either but at times it was a bit slow. But beggars can't be choosers, eh?
Like I wrote about, the rooms were pretty big and seemed even bigger because of the high ceilings. The sheets were a little rough, but once again, I realize that this is not a 4 star hotel so you get what you pay for. The hardwood floor in the room was nice but it seemed like the wood was warping in the hallway. There was this huge bump in the hallway that we almost tripped over. There was 'Caution: Wet floors" sign over the bump but it's a large bump that you can easily trip on.
