  • I really can't say enough good things about the place. We recently went w/ my mom, wife, and our 3yo & 1yo kids on a last-minute whim. Parking was cheap for the area, lunch was somewhat expensive but not in the realm of ridiculousness. We did miss the signup for the meet n' greet with Daniel Tiger, but like I said we went on a whim and weren't there right as it opened, so our bad there. The museum building & layout itself is really accomodating with lots of places to sit for a bit if you're tired of walking. It's really easy to navigate the exhibits, he family-friendly restrooms are perfect. All of the exhibits are interactive on a few levels & there was more than enough to keep both of our kids - at very different developmental stages - engaged and interested. They went NUTS for the Daniel Tiger room. I hope some part of it can eventually become a permanent fixture! I have never seen kids so fascinated to deliver and sort mail. Ha ha. If they had the trolley-on-a-stick in the gift shop we would have one here at home now. A tip for the water exhibit on the 3rd floor, bring bathing suits, a towel, & crocs or sandals. We had a change of clothes & the kids went barefoot with no issues, bit the got completely drenched. The dryers on site were fun and very useful but swimsuits would have taken a few minutes & may have been more comfortable for any long amount of time. My only complaint is that some parents don't have any grasp of manners imparted to their children, don't correct them when they act inappropriately, or just aren't watching at all. My 1yo was repeatedly pushed out of the way or had objects ripped out of his hands by much older children that should have known better. You know how much parents like other people correcting their kids too. Perhaps the museum could add a few more extra eyes and ears to referee or police such actions? The Daniel Tiger room was awesome, but there was a palpable uptick of energy and chaos in there. I felt like we were 30 seconds away from some Lord of the Flies type of $#!+. At any rate, the museum itself was a fantastic experience. I know that both kids had an exceptionally fun day and went home the good kind of exhausted. We really are going to consider a membership!
