| - My first experience at The Mission went a little like this....
Where & how do i begin to describe a middle of the week lunch here, that was akin to sex to the hundreth power.
You know middle of the day sex that you weren't expecting and now it's all you're thinking about and you find yourself smiling all day long ...yeah baby The mission was that damn good .
At first glance, * curbside* it is aesthetically pleasing, and as you make your way inside, the beautiful people greet you, and escort you to your table ( our's was outside on the courtyard style patio) even in broad daylight this is a sexy place with it large brick fireplace and intimate seating ( corner booth).
Anthony our waiter was nothing short of fabulous. You could see he takes pride in doing his job well. He asked if it was our first time and like a gentle lover he explained what we were about to experience while we let our hands and eyes travel over the heavy soft leather covered delicate pages of the menu .
The Mission is a Spanish- French fusion style eatery The chef was trained in French Cuisine and he has melded that training carefully into the Spanish style dishes .
I had the Brisket Torta (actually i think it had me) thinly sliced tender beef that literally melted on my tongue that was lightly drenched in a mild yet flavorful BBQ type sauce that sat atop coleslaw, which added a cool crispness to the hot soft beef.
This Torta was texturally stimulating and the Aji Amarillo gave my taste buds a subtle barely there sting. Nothing within the soft bun competed for flavor it was harmonious ..A Fait Accompli .
Presentation was lovely. The made before your eyes table side Guacamole is wonderful. My companions lunch consisted of 3 petite beef tacos that looked amazing.
The food is not to be rushed as something so well executed needs to be savored, felt .
Like an afternoon of great lovemaking, I left limp, floaty, sated, eager for more. A wicked soft grin upon my lips as i walked away. And i had to turn back and look one more time ...
Mission accomplished ......an orgasmic experience !
5 stars for the stars in my eyes ....
Update:
I have eaten at The mission at least twice per month. I love their Mango and Jimaca salad, and the Spinach & Date salad.
For dessert the fried bananas rock! But, the pumpkin bread pudding...OMG OFF THE HOOK.
