| - Marty's Market is an eclectic market/restaurant hybrid in the Strip District, and is one of my favorite brunch spots in the city. I love the feel of this place: plenty of windows, bright colors, and kind of an industrial feel with the furniture and fixtures. It's very clean and open. I think the food in the grocery or market portion is a bit expensive, but they do stock some items that you can't get at a normal grocery store. It's fun to wander around the market while you wait for your table (and you will probably be waiting for awhile if you come for brunch, so call ahead)!
I've been here numerous times for Sunday brunch and Marty's Market never disappoints. First off, the freshly squeezed orange juice is a must-try. I don't even like orange juice and I absolutely love the orange juice at Marty's Market. I usually get the classic "two eggs your way" for brunch along with a pancake from the "sides" section of the menu. The griddled bread and potatoes that you get with the eggs are so delicious. I find that classic brunch selections at most restaurants with eggs, bacon, potatoes, etc. tend to be greasy and heavy, but this is not so at Marty's Market. Everything tastes so fresh. The side pancake is only $2 and is hands down the best pancake I have ever eaten and probably ever will eat. First of all it's huge, so it's a great deal. You could easily share it with another person. The pancake is like a delightful fluffy cloud in your mouth and is covered with some sort of cinnamon sugar concoction that I dream about for days after I eat it. It's really just incredible. I also appreciate the REAL maple syrup that they give you on the side - I grew up eating real maple syrup and hate how most restaurants only use that fake sugary sorry excuse for maple syrup. I always leave Marty's Market very full and very happy. Try it for brunch ASAP!
