BOTTOM LINE:
Classic and French. This place knows who they are and confidently owns it. The food is
authentically French, the service is five stars, and the ambiance was wonderful. Come here if you're looking for a place that isn't scrambling to get on trend and is comfortable and dedicated to its wonderful craft.
THE SPACE + SERVICE:
No frills bistro style. The place is cozy and clean. It's lively and filled with conversation, but my boyfriend and I felt like we were the only diners in the space. The service was absolutely pristine -- our bread basket was never empty. Whenever we hit the last slice of bread, they'd swiftly come and switch out our basket. Our wine and water glasses were never left empty. They were prompt, polite, and gave excellent suggestions!
THE FOOD:
Chicken liver pate with pistachios/ So yummy and a generous serving to boot. They also gave us some mustard and an entire jar of yummy cornichons to eat with it. I dislike pickles but was converted after this.
Quail with wild rice - perfectly cooked and generously portioned. I loved the presentation of it fanned out. Wild rice was cooked perfectly and salted well. I was stuffed after this but had to make space for :
Blueberry tart - we asked our waiter for recommendations. He suggested the chocolate mousse or one of their specials, the blueberry tart. We opted for the latter and it was wonderful! Rich crust and a filling that wasn't too sweet. A perfect ending to a great dinner.
They have a huge wine list and some half bottles listed as well, which was appreciated. We split a half bottle which thankfully left us alert enough to enjoy the dinner.
No pictures as their menu had a no phones icon on it ;)
