  • While Drai's may not attract the premier level of DJ talent that its competitors boast, I do have to say - both our visits here have been thrilling afternoons of wire-to-wire fun: ___________ + I'd say that the venue itself is best summed up as an "Encore Beach Club 2.0". Drai's has the same energized, upscale feel of its predecessor at Encore, complemented by the added bonus of a breathtaking view of many of the Strip's most iconic hotels. In pure sunlight, this Strip view from 11 stories up makes you feel as though you're at the very heart of the action - the quintessential "adrenaline rush" Vegas experience. It's like the perfect aesthetic intersection of Marquee Dayclub and Encore Beach Club, all rolled up into one sexy package. All the good looks in the world mean nothing in the absence of practicality, however - and Drai's has an edge on the competition in that department, too. For a rooftop dayclub, the place has a surprising amount of shade to go around. Partygoers who arrive early should seek out the palm trees located nearest to the DJ booth; surprisingly, the leaves of these big trees stretch out even over parts of the pool, offering some much-needed solace from the sun even for those who decide to take a dip. There's only one bar for General Admission attendees, and it's positioned inside a shaded, air-conditioned area that's almost directly adjacent to the DJ booth. Thus, you don't have to fret about disengaging from the action for the sake of snagging a few drinks. + For those intent on getting glammed out and dressed to the nines for a visit to Drai's - I'd suggest that you reconsider. The place gets really, really splashy (though I suppose that's to be expected at a "beach" club), and you're practically guaranteed to get drenched. The sooner you come to embrace that reality, the better! (And plus, it's just more fun that way!) Just be wary about bringing any pricey wallets, phones without a proper case, etc. - there's a noticeable lack of storage space, and the threat of water damage here is very real. ___________ + As mentioned above, the DJ roster at Drai's doesn't really consist of that "A-list" category of billboard talent that other Las Vegas venues boast; you won't find the likes of Martin Garrix, Sebastian Ingrosso, or Alesso here - but to be quite honest, I hardly noticed any sort of drop-off in terms of the talent level. We've visited here twice, seeing Dyro and MAKJ, respectively. Both DJs threw down impressively hard sets (I've always been particularly fond of MAKJ's signature blend of hip-hop and classic ignorant big room house), and I didn't find myself missing the top-tier talent that we might have been able to see elsewhere. I suppose that's because in my mind, I'll always pick an impressive venue and a fun party atmosphere over big-time DJ talent. + In contrast to some of the feedback I'm reading about here on Yelp, I've found the vibes and the overall demeanor of attendees at Drai's Beach Club to be largely positive (and dare I say even respectful?!) overall. Case in point: two lovely ladies with a bottomless pitcher full of some vodka/lemonade concoction, who kept sharing their drinks with my GF and I during our most recent visit - and continued to insist that we keep drinking even as we came pretty close to the point of no return. But really - attendees at Drai's do a pretty solid job of remember their "excuse mes," "pardon mes," etc. It's a refreshing exception to the Vegas norm! + Like with all other Vegas day parties, I recommend arriving here at around noon to early afternoonish. Things tend to get a little sloppy/rowdy as the party begins to wind down (drunk girls slipping & falling near the pool deck, lifeguards calling out couples for gettin' frisky in the pool, etc.). The earlier you arrive, the more likely you are to get your money's worth!
