| - When you have a toddler you're bound to visit an ER annually.
This trip was our first to this ER, which we arrived around 10pm and was 4th in line for triage. There is an online(also on the tv in waiting room) stat showing you how many people have checked in, waiting times which said it would be 90 mins which is great time for ER standards in gta!
The nurses at check in all seemed human and empathetic that you came in. There were lots of chairs in the waiting room and the lights were dimmed being night time as some patients needed to sleep. There was a kids table with some books and toys....that i wiped down with sanitizer.
Like most Emerg, there are lines and rooms after rooms so every time you think you are that much further to getting help and attention, nope you are now in another colour level which can really mess with one's patience!
There's a Tim Horton's so buy some sanity there and a magazine before heading back to your colour room and root down comfortably cuz they are doing their best to see everyone. We had some people behind us declare they were more important then some of us in line, and needed to be seen much more urgently and the nurses all handled it so well and calmed them down.
TIP/NOTE: if for some chance they think they might need to put you under with anesthesia, they will tell you/the patient not to intake any food or liquids.
The doctor and nurse that took in my toddler were very patient as they tried to help him understand what happened, but asking a 2.5 yr old that he put rocks in his ear at the playground can't be the whole truth, as they prep for possible surgery, luckily it wasn't and they alligator clamped something out with cutting into his ear. Whew, profusely apologizing for his shenanigans, they laughed and wished him well all the same.
Parking- lots of paid, there is a building meant for the community center that is open at night and free, but by day the gate is down and a pass is issued that gets validated at the community center.
