| - I found Massage Works after a scheduling debacle with another nearby salon in the area. I was in town, just completing a week long, west-to-east coast work trip and woke up in severe pain. I spent almost an hour searching for a masseuse, found one that looked great and booked online only to arrive and be told that I did not have an appointment. Disheartened and in pain, I spent another 30 minutes sitting in the lot of the first place looking for an alternative. Luckily, I found Massage Works and they were available!!! Ten minutes later, I was in the complex. It looks like a residential building but it wasn't difficult to find. The place is super small and no frills (there isn't a steam shower or sauna). It appears they only have two rooms. The room I was led to had two tables (good for couples), was dark, simply decorated, and calming. Jessica was my therapist and let me tell you...she was excellent! I get weekly massages, so I'm not new to this. I am also a fan of deep tissue and trigger point, because the devil has decided to use my back as a constant reminder of what hell must be like. My knots are epic and this day, my pain was worst than it has ever been. Jessica started slow. I believe she said medium pressure, which may have been more intense to newbies but I was all for it and excited to experience the deep work. Next thing I know, I had melted into the table with euphoric relief. She used tiger balm and biofreeze which had me smelling like an old person chewing big red when I left. But the hot and cold was a great compliment. I left feeling conflicted because I felt so great that I actually told myself that I would cheat on Andy (my regular masseuse) if I lived in Charlotte. Don't worry, I told Andy I had a much needed tryst when I was out of town. I explained...He understood.
Unfortunately, the relief only lasted about 15 minutes before the muscle spasm returned. This, however, was in no way a reflection on Jessica. I am just getting over the pain a full 10 days later, which is an indication of a bigger problem. Trust me, if I'm EVER in Charlotte again, I will definitely be back. The only reason I'm sharing her name is because I don't live there. If I did, I may not have written this review. Some good things you keep to yourself!
