  • I took Flywheel Scottsdale's first ever class this morning at 6:00 a.m. and it was awesome! I "liked" their FB page and was given a link to register an account and try a free class for their opening weekend. I got there about 20 minutes beforehand to check in (tons of peppy, smiling employees to help me out) and I loved the bright, clean studio. Lots of locker spaces! I don't own clip-in shoes and the fact that they offer those with your class is a huge bonus. The new owner set me up on my bike and I was ready to go! The workout was AMAZING. (Torched 600 cals in 45 minutes, hello.) Victor kept everyone pumped up and reaching past their limits. I'm kind of a big baby when it comes to pushing myself at the gym, but the ambiance, music and interaction definitely gave the class an "it" factor, and it absolutely motivated me. I love that Flywheel incorporates an upper body routine in the middle of the class. By the end I was a sweaty, endorphin-fueled mess. The women's locker room has 4 showers and TONS of amenities. (Hair dryers, bobby pins, deodorant, etc.) There were a few other girls getting ready with me after class, and we all had ample room. I will say, $220 per month is too steep for me to buy a membership at this time (I'm already a member at two other gyms so it would be a little frivolous for me). But, if you live nearby and cycling is your thing (and you have a sweet amount of disposable income) I can see how this would become an addiction. Welcome to the Valley, Flywheel!
