| - My wife and I visited Yellowtail with friends of ours while in Vegas on vacation recently. We were all staying at the Bellagio, so this was a great place as far as convenience goes. I was able to place my reservation online using the mLife portal.
Let me start by saying Yellowtail is expensive. If you're looking to have dinner/drinks for a party of four, prepare to spend about $75-100 per person.
That being said, Yellowtail is also very delicious! We started by ordering some small plates (Gyoza, Edamame, Ceviche) which were shared. The Gyoza came out hot and crispy on the bottom, they were very full of flavor. The Ceviche is served with five fried wonton "chips" to use, and was very flavorful and had a strong citrus backing. The Edamame comes out served two ways, one small bowl with traditional steam and another tossed with a Chili Sauce. Trust me when I say this, get the Chili Sauce! It's FANTASTIC!
For our meal we ordered an assortment of sushi rolls, sashimi and nigiri. We had several special requests for preparation of these rolls and they were followed well. As other reviewers have said, the Crispy Kalbi is very special. Korean short ribs and slaw as a role? Sounds crazy, but it works!
So is Yellowtail overpriced? Yes, obviously ($14 for a 12oz can of Japanese Beer, for example). But show me one restaurant located in a casino that isn't. If you're willing to overlook the price, it's actually a really fantastic Sushi restaurant and fun dining experience.
