  • Just at the end of Fremont Street and just down Las Vegas Blvd. in the Fremont East district is the Downtown Cocktail Room. This place is slightly off the tourist circuit and away from the main downtown attractions and the strip. It seems to be a local hang out and that made it all the more appealing for someone who wanted to get away from the rest of the tourists. The lounge is dark. The walls are red and the furniture black. The light and the artwork is minimalistic. It's relaxing and chill and a great place to kick back with a cocktail. The DJ spun energetic remixes of soul and funk which reflected the lounge's balance of being chill yet a hip destination. The cocktail menu is seasonal and full of many craft cocktails. The libations and mixology is interesting and unique. The cocktails are around $8-10 and are mixed well with fresh ingredients and fine spirits. The bartender was very friendly and helpful. The server was very nice and she talked to my friends and I for a long time. She thought we were locals and if I was I would visit this bar all the time.
