| - My friends and I made plans to meet here for happy hour last week to grab a bite, a drink, and catch up. Cioppino is central for all of us so we decided to try. Unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired..
1. The bar area was empty except for 1-2 people sitting at the bar. I said there would be 3 of us and the hostess told me to sit anywhere. For how empty it was, it took an exceptionally long time for a server to finally take our order.
2. I was excited to see that they offered a great happy hour selection. Each of us ordered a glass of red wine. When they arrived at the table, my glass had a more generous pour than the rest, but was obviously the end of the bottle. It had a foul smell and taste. For someone who rarely sends anything back, I couldn't get past it and had to send it back.
3. 2/3 of us ordered the smoked chicken tacos. The description is "house smoked chicken, lettuce, spicy salsa, and pepper jack cheese." When they arrived at the table, the chicken had a black film or skin on it which made it look very unappealing. The "spicy salsa" could not really be classified as a salsa. It was 2-3 chunks of tomatoes with TONS of onions. After taking one bite, the chicken was chewy and the onion extremely overpowering. We waited to talk to the server and she said she would send a manager to the table.
4. When the manager approached the table, he stood with his hands on his hips and did not want to hear anything we had to say. He said the tacos are one of their best sellers and maybe we weren't familiar with "smoked" chicken.
I am giving them 2 stars because they eventually did comp Tacos, but there was nothing professional about our interaction with management. Needless to say, we will not be returning.
