  • Best bagels in Toronto - maybe. As good as Montreal bagels? Absolutely not. These bagels have a harder, crispier and shiny exterior vs. a true Montreal bagel. Also, far more chewy inside. They do have a nice sweet flavour though. I spent the first 25 years of my live eating Montreal bagels and I can tell the difference immediately (as most a true Montrealer should). Comparisons out of the way - This is probably the closest thing to a Montreal bagel in Toronto and I will return for more. Sadly, I still need to fill my car trunk with St. Viateur bagels on every trip back to Montreal (by the way, you can freeze the bagels and they still taste pretty good). BK
