  • I love Stoddard's fruit flavors of the day, my favorites being blueberry or black raspberry. I believe fresh fruit is used, making these custards less artificial tasting and less sweet, which is great. The prices are a bit high and their location is terrible, but I'd still choose this place over the nearby Handel's any day due to the taste. However, I almost stopped coming here due to the poor service. I remember I had a gift card 2 years ago and the girl not only didn't accept the card but after I paid with my credit card, she discovered she did charge the gift card and wouldn't refund my money. I would have been fine with cash back, another gift card, re-crediting to my credit, etc. but she just kept saying it wasn't possible - until I got the store owner involved. I've been torn between giving this place 5 stars because of the custard and my husband's family's long standing loyalty vs. giving it 1 star due to their decreasing quality over the years and repeated poor service. I've settled on 3 stars until I can find a local place closer to home, but I would love to see this place improve and get back to the status they were before.
