Scared. That's what I was when buying a car and I won't be ashamed to admit it.
Having driven my 2nd car from age 19 to 30 I was in a ridiculous comfort zone regarding automobiles. The guys at Benz and Beemer did a good no BS job at setting me up.
I scouted for months while looking for my ideal vehicle. It just so happens they had one for a while that didn't seem to be moving and so the price dropped until I just couldn't put off my purchase. Also, I had been tracking the car via Autotrader.com which they keep updated daily with prices and inventory (my car vanished the Monday after I bought it).
I called, then went in, test drove and worked out financing in less than 2 hours. We did a bit of back & forth and in the end I didn't feel slighted or mistreated. The finance portion, hello giant 3 foot carbon contract, was super smooth. We didn't get cornered into anything unnecessary nor were we pressured on an extended warranties or such things. Seriously, no BS.
Apparently these guys do lots of overseas sales with people flying in to pickup cars and ship them to exotic places. I wouldn't know it though. They just seemed slick and well intentioned.
