  • This airport is a total diamond in the rough! If you want to avoid the busier Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, you can land or fly out of the Phoenix area from this tiny airport. This airport only flies Allegiant Air, so that is your only option. It does remind me of the Long Beach Airport, where it's very small and you'll enter & exit the airplane from the runway. Like other tiny airports, it's never crowded, security lines are short, and everything is more convenient when you arrive or depart. Everything is faster too. Even though I'm not a big fan of Allegiant Air, I do enjoy this airport. It's a further drive from Phoenix, but it's only about 40 minutes away. Gas is cheaper in AZ and there are less vehicles on the road. It's a lot easier to get around this area, so I don't mind flying out a little further to this airport.
