| - I hired All My Sons after calling around to a few places. They were cheaper than other companies, and I didn't have a big budget for this move. Also, I foolishly hadn't checked reviews prior to calling. I booked two weeks in advance for Friday, September 14. On Tuesday of that week, Robert called me to confirm my move. They'd be at my place between 7:30 and 9:00am on the 14th. He was super nice and professional during the call.
Due to an issue with flooding and my new apartment, I called on Thursday panicking and hoping to reschedule for later in the day. Walter changed my appointment without hesitation and said they'd be over at 3:00pm on Friday. Walter said someone would call back to confirm after noon. So far, this all sounds great.
I hadn't heard anything by 4:30, so I called to make sure we were still good. At that point I was told by Robert that they couldn't move me due to vandalism to their trucks. Apparently, the tires had been slashed and were on back-order until the following Wednesday. I asked if someone was going to call and tell me this, and he said that he'd guess that's why nobody had called back to confirm. He said that he'd just returned to the office and wasn't sure what had gone on prior to that. I understand that these things happen, but to not call immediately the day before a scheduled move is terrible business practice. Needless to say, I was angry, but Robert apologized and gave me the number to another moving company (which was another trainwreck in itself).
I truly think they knew about this when I called to change the appointment, but it wasn't mentioned. The high point is that they didn't charge a deposit. Interestingly, I received a call from All My Sons about an hour after I spoke with Robert. I missed the call and there was not a voicemail. As much as I wanted to call back, I didn't. I'll never call them again.
