| - I've been to Vegas a few times before and I'd always been completely fascinated by Red Square because of that enormous headless Lenin statue out front. This trip, I decided to stop in for a drink.
We arrived during happy hour, so we took advantage of their drink and food specials. First the good:
I ordered the KGB cocktail (Ketel One Vodka, Fresh Cucumber & Watermelon, Chili) and it was delicious and refreshing. I'll admit this was one of the better cocktails I've had in a while, as all the components worked perfectly together.
(I'll also note that the happy hour price is $11, which seems steep but is a veritable bargain compared to the normal $18 price tag.)
Now the bad: We wanted to get a snack, so we went with the Oysters on the Half Shell (Tobiko Caviar, Soy Mignonette, 3 Per Order). First of all, I have to note that the "3 Per Order" warning was *not* on the menu and I certainly wouldn't have gotten it if I'd known there were only three. It meant I only got to eat one, since I offered to let my dining companion eat the third one. One oyster!
Red Square has a cool ambiance and that cocktail was awesome, but the exorbitant prices and minuscule portions afford it the vibe of a total tourist trap.
