  • A relief from the Strip, soooo glad we went. Hiked the Calico Water Tank trail. They state moderate on the site, my husband says no way! The last 1/4 of the hike is a bit difficult. The view on top is worth it as you see the Strip from 20 miles away. It's $7.00 to drive in and park your car. Tons of trails, saw camping areas, and a nice visitor center. The website is rich with information as well, so spend some time perusing that. We went in the morning, about 10 am, as we were leaving about 2 pm we noticed more cars and people. So go early, not that I think the place is swarmed with peeps, but maybe it is, the Strip certainly is!!! We were there April 1 on the Monday after Easter. If you like being outside and exploring nature you need to go. It will give you a reprieve from all that money you are losing in the casinos.
