  • I am commenting on two jobs we contracted through SCS: wood yard fence & bathroom remodel. Both these projects were relatively simple and had no hard timeline. Although the work was completed, it wasn't executed to the plan discussed with Brent. For example, we wanted to adjoin our neighbors' fences that flank our house with a gate/fence. These two fences are different lengths--one neighbor has 6' fence, the other neighbor has a shorter fence. We agreed that our fence/gate would mimic the length of the neighbor's fence. Tell me why the finished product was a short fence on both sides? Oh well, Brent was nice, so my husband gave SCS the benefit of the doubt. We had a fence to corale the dogs. Our 2nd project was a simple bathroom remodel that ended up taking longer that was quoted to us. Lots of miscommunication via email, text, and phone conversation on the start date. Slow response on the types and colors of materials we wanted. We had a specific vision for the bathroom, nothing over the top or anything...but when we were presented with the materials and design prior to beginning the work, it was NOTHING like we had discussed with Brent. It was just generic stock tile and shower stall glass door from Menards that was NOT what we described to Brent. Again, we had specific things we wanted. Why didn't he disclose in the beginning he couldn't fulfill these things? It took forever to get the job started because we ended up finding our own tile, Brent was looking for a gray floor tile, and we were going to find our own shower stall door to install ourselves. Wish we had gone with a more seasoned contractor. We just accepted the bathroom, just to get it over with. Anyway, I don't have any bad intentions in writing this review. I just want to share/warn others that unless you have a very, very simple order...find another contractor.
