  • Hoover Dam Tours prices Dam Tour: $30 (Power plant tour+2 extra stops in the dam) Power Plant Tour: $15 (seniors/junior/military $12, children 3 and under are free) Visitor Center Admission: $10 (children 3 and under are free) Bewarn, it's HOT here! Don't forget your hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, water, and camera!! Pretty much everywhere you go nowadays are not free, including the dam. First off, you have to pay $10 to park in their garage. I read in other yelp reviews if you keep driving to the Arizona side, it's free. But the downside, you would have to walk a bit to the visitors center in the blazing hot heat (pass!) I've been here at least 3 times now with different family members for their first time. We didn't go inside the visitor center nor go on a tour this time. The dam is super impressive how they built it back then without high-end technology. It's different quite a view here and especially at the observation deck if you've never been! I remember doing the power plant tour in 2009, it was cool. They take you down to see the generators and some rocky tunnels. On their site, they suggest people that are claustrophobia, or has a pacemaker or defibrillator not to go on the tours since they take you to confined space and areas that emitted electromagnetic waves. There's also another place you can visit upstairs if you have a ticket to check out some memorabilia. If you choose not to go on the tours, I definitely recommend coming here at least once. There is still a gorgeous view of the dam and the newly built bridge. It's pretty cool how you're in California one minute then the next you're in Arizona haha. The water level has definitely dropped because you can see where the water once was. Oh, there's water foundations that you can drink or refill your bottles. Gift shop to purchase some souvenirs, get ice cream and water. You can walk on the bridge as well, so check that out too! :)
