On of the worst things about living in Hickory, NC is that they can't seem to keep a GOOD, reasonably priced, restaurant. One of my favorite places used to be Schlotzsky's Deli, which was in a great location. The food was ALWAYS good there, and everything that I ate was excellent. I was really disappointed when they closed.
My favorite sandwich at Schlotzsky's Deli is definitely their Pastrami Reuben on Rye - which is amazingly good. So good, in fact, that I order this every single time.
Now I have to drive 30 minutes to Gastonia to get my Schlotzsky's "fix," but it's totally worth the inconvenience. Schlotzsky's Deli has delicious sandwiches, freshly made, at reasonable prices.
(I hope that someone eventually reopens a franchise location in Mountain View / Hickory.)
