I am always amazed when I read bad reviews on someplace that was excellent to me....
First... my father had a back surgery there... he was in and out in two days.... released from the hospital by his surgeons PA.... she is a different story... and a review for her would NOT have gained 5 stars.... however... this isn't about her...
About 24 hours after my father got home.... he had a problem with his stomach and wasn't able to eat... was returned to this hospital by ambulance.... after several calls to his surgeon asking what to do... which went unanswered.... but again... this review isn't about them....
Yea... the ER was slow.... BUT anyone that spends anytime going to ER's which I do for work... knows that the wheels of progress in an ER are slow... and they take patients based on urgency.... if you are just sick you are going to wait for the guy who is unconscious.... but I digress..... he was admitted through ER back into the hospital....
In walks the hospital doctor.... Dr. Matt Pham... have to say I love him... he was great with us... found out what my father had.... and treated him... it took a while.... my dad was in the hospital for about 9 more days.... due to a complication from this original surgery,... Dr. Pham was there every day and checked in... he answered every question.... and would even call me when I would ask for him to be paged because I had a question or concern....
the nursing staff was amazing and treated my family with respect.... they provided my mother with a bed so she could stay with my father.... apparently when you have been married almost 50 years you don't like to be separated.... the one nurse had to go through the other floors to find my mother this bed.... each patient has a nurse and a nursing assistant assigned to them... they check on the patient at least one time an hour.... it does seem that when you would push the help button response time wasn't always swift... but if you pushed the flashing one it was.... most of the time we would just peek out of the room and either the nurse or her assistant was right there....
the hospital also has a cart that goes around daily and offers drinks and snacks to the families.... which was great.... saved you from leaving the room when you were worried.... these staff members were friendly and helpful....
overall for us... great experience.... great staff... great doctor (Pham)... clean private rooms.... they aren't strict about visiting so we could come and go at any time to see my father... and when he was able to eat real food they allowed us to bring in what he liked....
If, heaven forbid, my father finds himself in need of a hospital again... this on is great....
sorry for the people with bad times there.. wonder if it was just an off day for whoever was working.... because our experience of being there for the 2 days and then 9 more was not that....
