Here is yet another time I wish for a half star because I am a bit torn between a 2 and 3 stars. So I dutifully read reviews from some of my favorite people on Yelp before heading over to this place so I thought I knew what I was getting into. BUT unfortunately I was still disappointed!
Let's start off with their bogo sushi "deal" $14 for two rolls is pretty standard for a basic sushi place but these rolls were the SKIMPIEST I have ever encountered. The fish on the outside of both my rolls was paper thin and the roll itself was about the circumference of a quarter. So for $14 I would have been better of going across the street for sushi at Harris Teeter.
My wife is not a sushi person so she got one of their rice dishes which came so over salted she could not even eat it:(
I will say what I assume was the owner or manager of the place was all over the restaurant checking in with guests which was nice to see. If he had asked me how my meal was thought I would have told him I was a pretty disappointed.
I really want this place to be better so I might keep an eye on it because I would love for it to be more like New Zealand Cafe:)
