| - As a new resident of Mississauga, I wanted to find a new hair dresser in the area. After some Yelping, I decided to give Beauty Top Cut a try.
When it comes to hair cuts, I'm a pretty simple gal. I like my hair layered with side bangs. I don't need or want a 40$ salon. I fear hair dressers who take too much off, or give you the 'Asian mullet'. I also need a hair dresser who can cut my fiances hair, which seems simple as well, but we've gone to some pretty terrible barbers in the past.
After seeing some good reviews on Yelp, my fiance and I decided to give Beauty Top Cut a go. Shortly after we entered the Salon, the hair dresser (who I believe is named Helen based on the other reviews?) showed my fiance to one of the seats to get his hair cut. In front of the hair cutting station is a TV, which I thought was pretty cool(who doesn't need entertainment while they are getting their hair chopped?!). The hair cutting area is cut off from the waiting area via a large closet and counter in the middle of the salon. Because of this, I spent a lot of time waiting and wondering how my fiance's hair would look after the cut. Luckily, she did a pretty good job on his hair,
I was up next. I requested two inches off, with layers and bangs. I kept looking at myself in the mirror as Helen cut my hair. At first I was horrified at the amount of hair being chopped off and how I looked in the mirror, but by the end of it I actually really did like my hair cut.
One thing I'd say about Helen is that she definitely takes her time when it comes to cutting hair. There'd be many times she'd re-examine the length of my hair to ensure it was straight and the appropriate amount was taken off.
Price wise, Beauty Top Cut is not the cheapest place I've been to but she's also not the most expensive. My hair cut costed almost $25, whereas my fiance's hair was around $17.
So would I recommend Beauty Top Cut? If you're in the Mississauga area and looking for a nice place near by, absolutely! Would I swear by this place? Probably not. I guess the bottom line is, it's a pretty good hair salon but I'm still open to trying other salon's in the area.
