| - I just got back from a Real Estate Convention at the Phoenix Convention Center. The Sheraton is only 1 1/2 blocks away. It's not a bad walk at all. Phoenix is a beautiful city, and I never felt unsafe walking in that area during the day or night.
I arrived a little early, so my room wasn't ready yet. They were able to hold my bags so I could go ahead and get registered for the convention. They sent me a text when my room was ready. The lady at the check in was very kind.
When I arrived at my room, it really didn't "wow" me like I had hoped. I did have a nice view to take a picture of, but I did have to crawl on the desk to get the picture.
I went to put my cokes in the little refrigerator in the room. However it wasn't working. So I called Guest Services and they said they'd send somebody right up. Unfortunately he didn't show up for 2 hours because he didn't get the message. Nice repairman though. He brought me another refrigerator to use.
I went to get ice, and when I got back to the room, my key wouldn't work. A nice male worker used the hall phone to verify that I was indeed in the room I was trying to get in. So he let me in and said he'd go get me some new keys and he'd be right back ..... I never saw him again.
When I went into the bathroom I noticed I only had one towel. So I called Guest Services again. They brought some up about 20 minutes later.
I was looking at the water that was left for me ......hmmmm.... the bottle was half empty. I called Guest Services again, but they didn't answer. I walked down the hall and found the maid's cart. I couldn't find the maid, but I found the water, and just replaced it myself.
The next morning while I was in the shower at 8:45, I noticed a note under the door when I got out. It said because I had the "Do not disturb" sign on the door, that I missed maid service. At 8:45???? If I wanted maid service I was going to have to call Guest Services. Luckily, I found the maid and she agreed to come back.
This morning I was afraid I'd miss my flight. I set my phone alarm but I also called the Wake Up call number. They did call this morning ....3 times. Lol. At least they made sure I was up, but 3 calls?
I had a nice time here. Great location. But there were problems that I had. And the room wasn't as updated and nice as I had hoped. I'd probably try another hotel on my next visit.
