  • ***WARNING*** DO NOT RENT FROM HERE Worst experience in my 10 plus years in renting a car. I give most Thrifty locations in the US 4 or 5 stars. If I could give zero stars I would for Thrifty in YYZ. I arrived and there were 3 people in line before me to rent a car. It took 1 1/2 hrs for those people to be helped before I was able to pick-up a car. The people working there are idiots, bottom line!!! I over heard the experiences of the the people in front of me. The first couple was from the UK and has reservations from Expedia. The people behind the counter could not find their reservations and were on the phone with a manager forever trying to find it. The next family in line was told their reservation as at a different terminal in YYZ and were told they had to wait while they bring them their car. They were told when they made the reservation online they should have specified which terminal they wanted the reservation at....Thrify.com has no place to specify. We waited for about 1/2 hour while they brought their car around...they did not help other customers in the mean time. The third customer in line was a mother traveling with 3 kids who reserved a mini-van. She was told they didn't have any minivans and all that they could give here was a compact car. And that she had to wait for them to bring a car from another terminal. After filling out the paperwork and charging her card they told her they couldn't find any more child car seats. This, after she waited for about an 1 1/2 hrs with three young children. She wanted an immediate refund on her card and they told her she could rent the car and go buy a car seat if she needed one. They then said the refund would take 2-3 weeks to process. The children started crying as did she, and she stormed out of there. Finally my turn. I was in a rush as it was and I just flew for 9 hours to come see my grandma in the hospital. I've been up for about 20hrs. They said the car I reserved, a premium car was not available and that they could give me an SUV at a discount. I told them I didn't care what they gave me...just give me any car and get me out of there. I had to wait while they went back and forth on the phone with their manager. Finally filled out the paperwork, waited some more and they brought my car. Run as fast as you can from this place! Be warned it will ruin your trip. When I came back to return the car I bypassed the line and just handed them the keys....I didn't want to waste anymore time there. If there is a regulatory board in Canada they need to look at this facility and shut it down.
