I really enjoyed my first trip to Pearl Nail Salon. I was there about 10 days ago for a pedicure and gel manicure.
The selection (both gel and regular polish) was limited, and some of the bottles were in a cabinet with an unlit glass display case, which made it hard to choose wisely. It would be better if all the polishes were displayed on wall racks with good lighting--this is the one real criticism I had of the experience. The price was a little higher than what I am used to paying (in DC) at $53, but that seemed pretty fair given the time and attention to detail the manicurist (I got the impression that the woman who took care of me was the manager or owner, who appears to be Lynn?) put in.
I love when salon employees are great at intuiting whether customers are feeling chatty or not. This is relaxation time and I'm an introvert--I don't usually want to talk, so I really appreciated that she was comfortable with mostly silence. The pedicure was refreshing and my feet are looking nicer and feeling softer. The polish looks great even after 10 days and it was evenly and expertly applied. The manicure is also still looking pretty good. I really appreciate that she carefully applied polish to the edges of my nails near the beds. That and doing a third coat of polish to maximize the color saturation impressed me. I work out and do dishes, so I'm brutal on manicures, but usually get 2-3 weeks out of a gel manicure--10 days in, so far, so good. I'll definitely be back for future manicures.
