WOW ... where do I start?! It has been a little over a year since I ate at the Roaring Fork. I recalled the experience fondly and agreed to meet a group there for dinner.
Place was crowded (as I recall) and we chose to sit at a high top bar table in the bar.
Staff was amazingly attentive. We cruised through a couple of rounds of drinks and the three of us were about to settle on all of us ordering the house specialty ... fried chicken when the restaurant manager stopped by the table and had a nice chat with us. He succeeded in convincing of person in our party to order the rib eye that was the special of the day ... the person accepted the managers suggestion.
About 5 minutes later the waitress stopped by WITH the manager to inform our table the person that they had just run out of the rib eye, would he possibly be considered in anything else, perhaps the Filet at the special price? The person agreed to order the fried chicken and join the others.
We received a complimentary mac and cheese side to share and here is the astonishing part - what sets the Roaring Fork apart from some man others ...
We received the bill which was delivered by the manager to our table. He apologized again for the order mix up and welcomed us back. He informed us that make for the experience he had removed ALL of the drinks from the tab AS WELL as the cost of the meal for the person who was not able to have the rib eye ... REALLY!!
Most restaurants just give you the HO HUM sorry we are out ... pick something else.
Customer service ... boy do they get it. I will be going out of my way to go back, recommend it wherever I can and share this story.
If you want to experience not just good food, a wonderful night out or a cozy venue - go to the Roaring Fork and get one of the best culinary experiences you can find in the valley.
