| - For my wife and me, it was between this club and the downtown Y, which I had not used but my wife had. We took the tour, the place is brand new and shiny, very impressive array of equipment, far beyond what has been available at any gym I've used, and in better condition. My wife and I got a good deal, $20 a month for each of us, includes pretty much everything. Only thing we cannot do is reserve a racquetball court, but we can use any court that is unoccupied. The Y costs considerably more, and according to my wife, is very ugly and dingy by comparison, with older, shabby gear and depressing locker rooms.
The bathroom has been a bit in need of attention once or twice, but in general I find the place really excellently maintained. I use the pool and the weight machines, and the cardio machines only a little. Haven't tried using the audio at the cardio machines, so I can't verify or refute claims of problems there.
The pool is very nice, a tad shallow for my liking, but I usually get a lane to myself, which is rare in my experience.
I have been using the personal trainers there and have only good things to say. I have felt very welcome and very well treated as a 40-something guy who was totally out of shape when he joined.
I can't imagine a better gym experience unless I were paying much, much more than I am for some fancy boutique gym. I am completely satisfied.
