| - I can't say that the food is worth the 2 hour wait or the hefty price tag of $50 on a Saturday night, but I will say that this buffet should be a definite try for a foodie out looking for the Vegas buffet experience.
Outside of the dessert selection, I can say that this particular buffet is nothing out of the ordinary. If you're looking for a deal, you're better off paying for a 24 hour pass (http://www.harrahs.com/casinos/planet-hollywood/casino-entertainment/buffet-of-buffets-24-hour-pass-new-detail.html) which does include the Bacchanal Buffet (available as an upgrade).
The actual area was large (25,000+ sq ft dining room) with plenty of seating, and the variety was equally as large (300 items +115 pastries for dinner). I absolutely adore the cute bottles of horchata and tamarindo, and I was thoroughly impressed by the offerings of pho and ramen. If you're a seafood fan (which I am not), you will fall in love with the seafood section; I saw plenty of tables lined up with crab legs which is a disappearing rarity. Tacos, pasta, cheese, bread, cold cuts, carvery, pizzas, fried everything...and the best part for anyone with a sweet tooth could be found in the heart of the dining room -- feast your eyes on the dessert stand-alone island! It included its own crepe station, macaron plates (orange, pistachio, coffee, etc), cake pops (pls skip this unless you're into a mouthful of frosting), cakes/cheesecakes, gelato (thai tea, anyone?) and mochi station, crème brûlée, flan, etc etc.
It is built from its walls to its ceilings with sophistication and class in comparison to say Wicked Spoon and The Buffet (Wynn), but with the title of being the #1 buffet in Vegas, it disappointed since I enjoyed the quality of the food at The Buffet at Bellagio so much more (and I hear Studio B blows Bacchanal out of the water). Bacchanal was good, but it wasn't overwhelmingly amazing to deserve its popularity.
Still, it is highly worth mentioning that our server did a fantastic job in refilling our drinks and clearing our table! And to get a feel of how much I appreciated his friendliness and promptness, I left him a 40% tip.
