A few months ago, I bought an HDMI switch online. It never worked properly. I had then ordered a second brand online. The adapter didn't even fit into it.
I decided to go to an electronic store so that I could ask an expert to help me get the right one for what I need. That was the biggest mistake I made today.
The store is very large, so I knew I would need someone to direct me to the right department. After looking around for an employee for a few minutes, I found one. He gave me an isle number and I had no idea how the layout of the store worked so I wandered around and found the area. I pretty much knew I wanted a 3x1 switch with the optional adapter because I've read enough online reviews to know that most switches don't come with the adapter.
I asked 6-7 different employees for assistance. I started to feel like I was on another planet or speaking another language. No one provided assistance or walked me to the area to find someone who knew about the product. One asked if I bought the switch there. At least three guys said the adapter should be in the box of the switch I chose. I kept telling them it wasn't in there. The weight alone should tell anyone with common sense that the possibility of the box including an ac adapter was 0. They just asked did I open it. Did I open it. Clearly the package wasn't opened.
So after one guy going to his manager to assistance -they just talked to each other and didn't come over to help me... at least four seeming clueless or still asleep and everyone saying what should be in there, they opened the package. Was it in there? Of course not. No apology. Nothing. It actually took me yelling to even get that much help. AC adapters are on isle 14 but that's not my department. Clearly no one has that department because I wandered around and no one was there. I bought a universal adapter and do you think any of the plug sizes fit in the device???? Nope.
So $50 later I have something that isn't even working. I could have done the same online for a third of the price. Yes, eventually I'll go back to get money back but I will never shop there again. The only reason I purchased the product was because I had no energy to go to another store after visiting Frys.
