  • This shop's facade is plastered with faded photos of food, but the inside is cheery. The space is very small, but there are a couple of tables. The owner is very friendly and passionate about her breads and pastries, which she makes from scratch. Since her focus is less on breads and more on the pastries, there were only a couple types of buns available when I stopped in on a weekday afternoon. I went with a pineapple bun ($2). The topping didn't look quite the same as the ones I've had before, but I was excited to give it a shot. The bun was amazingly dense and filling, and the flavor was barely sweet. It was much more satisfying than other pineapple buns I've had. Other goodies include chive butter buns, scallion cakes (???), and zong zi (??) for the Dragon Boat Festival season. Coffee is available. The owner also makes moon cakes in the fall for the Mid-Autumn Festival, which I cannot wait to try!
