Happened upon this gem on a trip to Hilldale mall. Was not even planning on eating when I walked by but I love bao's and noodles so I figured I would check it out. Upon walking in I loved that it was an open kitchen concept and I could see all the food being prepared. Seeing everything being made from scratch had me very happy to happen upon this establishment. I figured I had found an excellent spot when looking at the patrons in this packed restaurant in very Caucasian Madison, WI that I was the only Caucasian in there at that time.
I ordered the pork shaomai, haus bao zi and the house noodle soup. All I can say after trying all three of them is wow. This might have become my favorite restaurant in Madison. The broth in the soup was incredibly flavorful and the soup had the right amount of braised beef and bok choy to make it a very filling dish. I had given up on finding a good bao in Madison but this place changed that. Their bao was borderline orgasmic.
Can't wait to go back again. The only problem I have with this restaurant is it has ruined eating Chinese food anywhere else in Madison.
