  • If I could give them zero stars, I would. I didn't have any major issue with State Farm as an insurance company. They weren't great, they weren't terrible. My issue is with Matt Keim and his staff. They called me incessantly to try to sell me different policies or to refinance my car. I told them countless times I'm not available for sales calls during the day. I asked them to stop calling me. They persisted. I don't know a single other person with State Farm that used to get calls like I did. They even told me one time that they were requiring me to personally come into the office to talk about my policy. Had there been changes? No. Were they offering something new? No. Was it even time to renew? No. They had no reason whatsoever for me to take time off of work to go to their office, yet that's what they said I was "required" to do. That was their word. When I said I couldn't go due to my work schedule, the girl got annoyed and kept insisting until I finally hung up on her. They kept leaving messages on my voicemail stating they needed to talk to me urgently. When I called back, it would be a sales call. I eventually stopped returning their calls or even listening to their voicemails. When I found a better rate through another insurance company, I called to cancel. They failed to cancel my policy, and withdrew funds from my account the following month. When I called back to ask for a refund, I was told they would call me back the following day. Three days later, no phone call. So when they were trying to be pushy sales people and I asked them to stop calling me all day...they couldn't get it. But now that they owe me money, they forget my number? After numerous calls to Matt Keim's office, I was told that the regional director would review my case and call me back. Not only did I never hear from him, but when I called the number they gave me for him, no one knew who he was. They had given me a fake name. I finally had to call my bank to dispute the charges. THEN, I got a bill for TWICE my monthly payment! Even though I've spoken to multiple people about canceling my policy - not only at Matt Keim's office, but at the State Farm corporate office. Needless to say, Matt Keim is not a "good neighbor." More like the a*hole who gets drunk, crashes into your mail box, and then sends you a bill for the damage done to his bumper.
