| - Update on "$29,000 in repairs" 06 20 2016: I found out indirectly that this Yelp review was reviewed by Cadillac corporate and the dealership has been contacted months ago regarding this specific Yelp Review. Despite a string of problems listed below, neither the dealership nor Cadillac Corp has made even one attempt to contact me. Awesome.
My Cadillac SRX has received over $29,000 in necessary repairs over the life of the vehicle (absolutely no upgrades and yes, that's a conservative estimate of completed repairs all done at this one dealer...including an entire engine replacement) from this dealer. Today it is sitting in my driveway broken again. Shady? I requested a copy my service records and they refused. After insisting, they told me that they would release them to my attorney.
I talked to them about getting a new car...shady salesman, but what do you do. That's car sales. The problem I am most upset about is the flawed vehicle and questionable service ethics. I seemed to always develop something new a few months I was at their dealership.
Buyer beware, I suppose. My last Cadillac forever, for sure! And, definitely watch your back at this particular dealer.
As a side note, I examined the engine recently. I removed the upper intake manifold and examined the "insides", the parts not visible on simple inspection. I found wiring harnesses dangling where they should have been locked down, brackets missing to secure wiring harnesses AND...wait for it...bolts missing. To be fair, not bolts that will make the engine fall out, but they were there for a reason and they were there before and...GONE. Not factory gone. The kind of gone that you can see the scratches from where they were taken out and not replaced. Makes me wonder what else wasn't done properly. (NOTE: this engine was replaced by Findlay at the cost of over $7,000. I figure the bolts should be where they are supposed to be when it's handed back to me). That's kinda crappy work, but nobody would know unless they pulled sections of the engine off and looked.
Go figure the car had problems. Who's worse, Cadillac designers or Findlay service? Hard to tell. Coin toss I guess.
