Takamatsu was one of the first Korean barbecue places I have ever tried. I used to think their food was top notch but throughout the years, I feel like I have frequented far better korean barbecue places throughout the valley and in California. This place isn't bad by any means, but it's definitely not the best either.
The particular day we visited Takamatsu, the restaurant smelled fishy for some reason. The complimentary appetizers tasted okay. They give you a pretty decent amount. For korean barbecue, we usually order the Beef bulgoki which is always so good and tasty. We ordered the marinated squid as well which was just okay. Unfortunately, they don't give you a lot of seafood; you get a lot of vegetables with it. We got a few pieces of shrimp but the shrimp was marinated well. We ordered the kalbi and the seasoned ribeye and they were both okay too. I do wish they had a better dipping sauce on the side. We've ordered the sushi before, like the salmon nigiri and it wasn't anything memorable as expected.
