| - I received a watch for graduation, and needed a few links taken out. Earlier that week I had gone to a jewelry store to take links out of the watch I bought for my younger sister, three links, 5 minutes, $10.
I came to Fast Fix because it was nearby, and I thought I would have a similar experience. They charged me $20 to take out three links. It only took a minute, but I was pretty appalled at the price difference. I had already handed them the watch and they were completing the process when I was charged. I wish I had asked them how much it would be first, so I could have gone somewhere else. Its not rocket science, and I had the same service done for half the price.
Really disappointed in the price -- go somewhere else.
My response to the Owner's reply does not show -- and I want to make sure you all know what I think of it.
Hi Donald,
No, I did not think I got a fair deal, and your reply was not a response to my concerns.
It comes down to a classic consideration of getting the best information from real customers, and not owners who value their bottom line more than customers' interests.
Your sympathy for your potential customers' time (and money) is misplaced -- thanks to communities like Yelp, it takes no time at all to find a service that is convenient for them *before* driving to the store, to see if that place can accomplish what is needed, and know what to expect to pay for it -- all to save $10. In hourly terms, that's like saving $10 AND an hour. Many of your potential customers feel they can be smart like that.
For 2 and a half years I have been yelping to point people in the right direction for services people like me are looking for, and to point them away from places like yours.
Regards,
Victoria, Yelper
