  • What a great recommendation from my fellow Yelper friend, Hope C! I rented a car in Vegas and decided to dine off the strip. Burger joints in Vegas are a dime a dozen, so I was a little skeptical at first about driving off strip to grab a burger. It turns out that Bachi Burger served up one of the best burgers i've EVER had. The restaurant has two locations in Las Vegas, both of which are off the strip. This means you need to access to a car (be it rental or taxi) in order to get here. This Bachi Burger is located in a random plaza 10 minutes away from the main Las Vegas Strip. My buddies and I each ordered a burger. We also shared the Truffle Parmesan Fries ($5) and Pork Belly Steamed Buns ($10). To be honest, the tastiness of my burger overshadowed the appetizers. The truffle fries were good, but not great. Maybe i'm just not accustomed to the taste of truffle, especially when paired with fries. I thought the combination was a little too salty. Even with the truffle sauce, I was still craving ketchup. The fries are barely big enough to share between two people. I would opt for the Oxtail Chili Cheese Fries next time. The Pork Belly Steamed Buns were good. Three buns come in one order. The pork was soft and juicy. I appreciate the use of radish to add crunch and texture to an otherwise "soft" dish. However, I still prefer cucumber over radish in this dish. For this reason, I favor Momofuku's version. I also believe they used excessive Hoisin sauce, which masked the intrinsic flavor of the pork belly. The Spicy Miso Burger was the real shining star of the meal. I never guessed that miso would go so well with a burger, but it does! The subtle sweetness and saltiness pairs well with the Angus Beef. The additional flavors from the runny fried egg and mild heat from the shishito peppers make this burger exceptional. If you love burgers and happen to have access to a car, by all means, check Bachi Burger out! You won't regret it.
