| - Tailwinds came highly recommended from a friend. I reached out to them as I have a trip planned the last week in June of 2017 where I would be gone for 3 days. I spoke with tailwinds, and was told to start the intake process I would need to fill out pet profiles for every dog staying at their resort. I downloaded them and filled out 5 profiles for them. I took the paperwork in the next day and was given a tour. All of my dogs are rescues and I stated that, as well as them having treat aggression. A couple of the animals have had incidents where people have entered our property unannounced and have been bitten. However, I stated when supervised these five furry animals do listen and respond well when instructed. I was then told all shots must be current which is standard and that all 5 dogs need their parvo shots. I told tailwinds it would be done Monday and I'd bring their records in then. Once I arrived Monday with the records I was told that the owner had viewed all 5 of my dogs pet profiles and decided that none of my dogs could be cared for in June. My dogs had not even had the chance to prove themselves in their temperament visits which I was also told needed to happen individually on separate dates, which I was ok with. I was more caught off guard that this decision had already been made and nobody bothered to call me before hand. In stead after 3 hours at the vet, getting through central Phoenix traffic with everything I thought I needed up until this point. I was greeted very coldly, then told about the owners decision that none of my animals would be accepted there for boarding. Now I adopt, rescue regularly, foster and volunteer within the Arizona animal community and I found this place to be the most unsettling, unprofessional pet resorts I've ever encountered. Now I could understand turning away my dogs that have bitten, who I must be clear about do not show aggression when supervised and guided (unless given treats all at once) but to not even offer for my animals who have good history the opportunity to be a part of the tailwinds resort family was upsetting. I have found the facility to be nice and the young woman I met who was keeping the dogs company on my tour to be very friendly, welcoming and relaxing. The owner seems to not be considerate and caring of her potential guests feelings. I would not suggest this resort as the intake process is long, difficult if you work full time and unprofessional when turning guests and their families away. My animals have been to pet resorts from here to Alaska and while I answer honestly on all intake forms I have never been told of any incidents where my dogs don't listen and don't take commands. I suggest checking all of your options before settling on tailwinds. Save yourself the hassle and trouble. I apologize for the one star but if I am being honest, I am hurt that my furry family wasn't even given a chance. Nobody called me to discuss not coming in with anymore necessary paperwork, not even to discuss the decision that was made and instead handed back half of the paperwork already brought in and sent away. The exterior of Tailwinds seems beautiful, but on the inside I'm not so sure. I blame the owner. Not the employees.
