I really wanted to like this place. The menu looks great. I have tried to go on two occasions. The first time I went with a group on New Years Eve. The server was very nice and very polite. When we sat he informed us of the vast amount of food they were already out of. A bit disappointing, but understandable on a busy night in a small kitchen. The brie puff pastry arrived...burnt to hell. It was so charred the puff pastry on half was inedible. Our other appetizer, the stuffed mushrooms, we were informed we no longer available. They neglected to tell us when we ordered them. Only after we asked were we told. Our entrees arrived next. The mushroom gnocchi was very good. This was the highlight of the meal. unfortunately this was only one of our meals. The rest - mediocre at best. The vegetable gnocchi was bland. As was the vodka sauce pasta. The pizza was similar to the brie puff pastry-awful! Soggy and burnt at the same time. We had a local dines coupon which we couldn't use due to the holiday, which is understandable. After arguing with the chef loudly in the restaurant about the quality of the food we left. I found this very tacky of the owner/chef.
We decided to give them another try, chalking the bad time up to the holiday. We went for Sunday brunch. We started with mimosas, which are good-Prosecco and odwalla oj. We sat on the patio since it was a beautiful day. Two other table sat outside also (only 3 tables total in the restaurant). We order first: the brie waffles, goat cheese waffles and two french skillets. The server brought out one of out waffles (brie) and said the rest will be out shortly. The server then brought a waffle to each of the other tables that arrive and ordered ofter us. Next, the skillets were brought. Small portions but OK food. Again the serve tells us the other waffle will be up shortly. Ten minutes later, the goat cheese waffle arrives. At this point everyone else is done with their food. I mentioned this to the server who immediately got defensive and rude-telling me that it is easier for the chef to make all of the brie waffles for the restaurant and then making the rest of the waffles. (Just to note the brie and goat cheese are toppings-the waffles are the same.) The serve then blatantly closed the patio door that was previously open to I assume talk shit about me and the table. She never came back to ask if the food was good-which was cold. I would be happier waiting for food it when it arrived it was at least hot!
We talked with the other patio patrons who also had the same feelings towards the place. Save your money. This place is overpriced for such poor quality of food and poor service.
