| - I am sharing this here because this is something EVERYONE statewide should be warned of before banking with this company, on a corporate level. I am currently in Tucson and bank there but will be moving to the valley this month. I feel bad for the employees here because they are very lovely people and they're not the ones who write the rules on a corporate level. Please understand that this review is not directed towards them in any way.
I signed up for a checking account because my auto loan was through them, and they offer a discount for automatic monthly loan payments if you have a checking account with Oneaz. I kept my Chase account open just in case. Boy, am I glad I did.
First of all, I travel often on business, and they have a "security feature" where I must tell them if I'm going to be using my account out of STATE. No, not out of country, as I do understand that would be a security factor, but out of state. While other banks allow you to shut off this "security feature", with OneAZ it is a requirement. I do not want added safety at the expense of having a babysitter I have to check in to, to let them know where I am going all the time. This is highly invasive, as well as terribly inconvenient.
The nail in the coffin was recently where I used their free "convenient" Popmoney online transfer, to pay a contractor for painting my new home. As I completed the transaction, I received an error message that I would have to call the main number and speak with them. I did this immediately and they told me that it would be okay but that because ridiculously $1930 was a "high amount" to THEM, not to me, that I would be called to confirm the transaction. Well, no one ever called me, and I received an email saying that the transaction was frozen, thus embarrassing me with my contractors who did a fine job painting my house in a timely fashion.
I decided to go into the bank, to remove the money via cash so that I can just pay them cash instead. What do I discover? Oneaz credit union had FROZEN my entire bank account due to "suspicious behavior", and the lady at the counter had to call the FRAUD department to get it active again. Not only was the one transaction frozen, but so were incoming AND outgoing transactions from that week. The woman was very nice and worked promptly to get things fixed for me. It was not her fault at all, just want to add that.
After all of that, I discovered that my credit card payments I made were all frozen and bounced due to OneAZ's sloppy job at "customer security". I had to call up and redo every single one of my credit cards' autopays which were all connected to my Oneaz account, and explain to them what happened. On top of that, some of them CHARGED ME returned check fees, and caused me to experience late payments, thus potentially ruining my perfect credit score and track record of 100% on time full balance payments, during a time I'm buying a new home with a mortgage. This is not just inconvenient, this is utterly disgraceful. I am paying my auto loan off in full this year so I can escape this garbage and return to Chase Bank, where I have Never had any issues or problems like this, ever!
Another awesome "feature" I've had the pleasure of trying out, is their smartphone check deposit feature. I took clear photos of my checks and it NEVER WORKS. I have used the same exact app feature for Chase and never had any problems with it, not even once.
Thanks for holding me hostage from my own hard earned money, constantly giving me extra headaches and countless inconveniences, forcing me to pay returned check fees to accounts in good standing, and making my payments late, Oneaz Credit Union. You seriously need to get your act together, and it's no wonder people prefer to do business with big banks. This is trash.
