  • Kekou has a wide variety of unique Asian inspired flavours. I was quite intimidated by the menu at first but have no fear because they offer free samples!! Their prices are pretty cheap compared to other gelato stores that I have visited. I got a small gelato cup for $3.75 and it was the perfect size for dessert. I bought Durian and Roasted Oolong Tea which were both really good. The Durian gelato had really rich flavour and tasted just like the real fruit. The Roasted Oolong Tea was good too but lacked the deep flavour that I expected from roasted tea. I tried a sample of the Osmantus Plum Berry which had a unique sweet flavour but beware of the seeds if you get it. I also tried the Spicy Salted Pineapple which was delicious - spicy, savoury, and sweet all in one bite. It's probably not for everyone but if you grew up eating fruit with a chilli salt dip like me, it really hits the spot! I found it odd that their gelato was not that creamy and smooth but after reading up about the texture on their website, I really don't mind. The texture is a result of not adding stabilizers in their gelato. They also don't add preservatives, soy lecithin, corn syrup, dextrose, and food colouring which is always a good thing. I really recommend trying out the gelato here because the flavours are so unique. However, it's hard to guarantee that you'd enjoy every flavour so take full advantage of the free samples!!
