  • Guerlain speaks for itself. It's a classic. Shalimar, in the beautiful bottle, has been a favorite fragrance of mine since my teenage years. Now, at age 48, I had never done a cosmetic consultation ("beauty makeover"). In Vegas for a professional conference, I decided to look for one. (I'm not a gambler. And having easy access to Tiffany's is too tempting for me). I perused the reviews and noticed the Guerlain store in a remote corner of the Venetian shops on a late-night walk. The next evening, I ventured in and received a warm reception from Vanessa D. I requested a "makeover". She did an amazing job. And she was so kind and fun. After she finished, she gently--with zero sales pressure-- asked whether I would like to buy anything. I bought everything! She did an exceptional job and she's a true professional. I had a great time. As I said, undoubtedly Guerlain is a timeless classic. But Vanessa far and away exemplifies the best customer service experience that I have ever enjoyed. Forget the department store treatment. Go to Guerlain and meet Vanessa; you'll be delighted with the results.
