  • UPDATE: STAY AWARE FROM SMART THERMOSTAT. Rather than argue with NV energy about why my bill was going up since the smart thermostat install when it shouldn't have been... I decided to just go back to a regular thermostat. Since they offer the service to remove if unhappy I called to schedule removal and that's when the nightmare began again. It took me having a massive panic attack and screaming to get it removed in less than 3 weeks. They had no problem getting it put on right away but good forbid you want it off. Oh wait for it and 24 hrs after you schedule the removal you lose control of the thermostat through the app or internet so it can ONLY be controlled manually ( which I never really figured out how to do). Didn't know that would happen. I thought after the removal is what the tech meant NOPE!! Meanwhile I have 2 days until they come and remove this thermostat. I have 4 furbabies and god forbid NOTHING better happen to them. NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS SINCE THE BEGINNING: In the beginning...my thermostat not installed on time and it wasn't even installed properly. Day wasted waiting. I struggled just to figure out how to have air/fan through the waiting for them to come out again. They get it on and I sort of understand how to with it. Then the bill starts rising more and more. The projected bill was outrageous and of course ZERO savings since it was still learning my tempatures the app says. Another issue: The thermostat will tell me outside is anywhere for 10-13 colder outside then inside my house and yet wants to keep my house at the scheduled temp. Ummm. Wait so it can charge me more. Common sense if it's colder outside it shouldn't still be got inside. I've had issues with the app and so much more. After much screaming and yelling....... I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE EVER!!!! Original post: Came here from California wanting to get away from the bigger prices but every since I installed the smart thermostat I've seen my bill keep climbing more and more and I keep my thermostat at 78 and sometimes don't even use it at all and bill is still climbing and I only have a single level apt. I've heard several people had complaints with the thermostat. I'm seeing why. I'm calling and having then come remove mine ASAP before bill gets any further out of control.
