| - I've only been once, but my experience was not good. The therapist was unable to honor any of my requests (please use my massage oil, only work on neck/ shoulders/ back, use deep pressure) and was disrespectful to my body (dropping arms back on to table instead of gently placing them). I paid extra for the "hot stones", but the way the therapist was holding the stones, her fingernails were scraping my skin raw. I really wanted to relax and be massaged, but the therapist kept making me "breathe in deep through your nose and release to the back of your spine" over and over for the full hour long massage. Eventually, my sinuses closed (face down in face cradle) and I couldn't breathe in through my nose anymore. At this point, the therapist decided to lecture me for not breathing in through my nose on her command. She said, I was "unable to release all the toxins and detox my body" breathing like that. When I asked her to use more pressure, she said that my body is "holding on to a lot of trauma and cannot feel the pressure". and on and on.... I almost ended the massage half way through. In retrospect, I wish I had.
When I told the receptionist that the massage wasn't good, she replied, "Oh, I am sorry. Would you like to add a gratuity?"
Is that like "Sorry, not sorry."?
I won't be back.
