  • I came here with members of our wedding party for the requisite mani-pedis after (a) being completely unaware of nail salons in the area (b) reading plenty of positive reviews (c) realizing it wasn't too bad a trek. We wanted somewhere affordable, but also a place that didn't feel dirty - basically just wanted to have a good time. The services are moderately priced - $35 for a mani/pedi without tips. I was contemplating Bio Gel since I never wear nail polish given how tough on my nails I am, but they told me not to do so. Okay. My maid of honor opted for the bio gel and they looked like they came out very well. Other than her, our experiences were mixed. The reviews were right that the place is clean and doesn't reek of acrylic, which was good. The staff was a crapshoot. One flower girl and her mom had a really good experience, as did my mom. However, I - along with the other flower girl & her mom - weren't so lucky. The other flower girl/mom combo had someone who couldn't understand them at all and wound up being pretty rude to them. My lady was not friendly in the slightest, and only after keeping my hands under the dryer did I notice that the polish had been applied very unevenly and there was cotton caught between the layers. Luckily, the staff took off the polish and painted over (another girl did this, who was way more competent). This girl also had to redo my cuticles because the other one had left them very ragged. The manicure lasted though I hated having long-ish nails and took off all of the polish/cut my nails a couple of days after the wedding. The toes (done by the first one) didn't last long but I was wearing sandals most of the time and had danced the night away, so it wasn't typical wear-and-tear. Overall the nails turned out alright, and the staff fixed their errors, but they all seemed so busy and rushed that the experience itself wasn't enjoyable. I may give them the benefit of the doubt and go solo if I ever need a manicure again in Toronto (highly unlikely) but if you're in a group and want to enjoy yourself and feel pampered I'd suggest either booking a party outside of their normal hours or going elsewhere. Definitely was NOT a relaxing "girl time" experience in the slightest.
