I was with a friend who had no choice but to grab lunch at MGM since the convention was going on and she only had about an hour so we were limited on our choices.
Emeril's NOFH was the only one without a long wait on a Friday afternoon during a massive convention so we went with it.
Honestly, I wish we hadn't. I have never been so disappointed by an Emeril brand restaurant.
I don't mind paying good money for GOOD food but this was so utterly mediocre it was painful. I had the lobster roll, which after viewing a friend's recent post from Maine on facebook of an INCREDIBLE lobster roll, this was simply tragic. Tiny. Hideously tiny portion.
But that was nothing compared to the Po Boy Shrimp sandwich my friend had. Seriously, 80% bread and 20% shrimp. It was ridiculous. The bread should have had some removed. As she remarked, hasn't anyone seen Chopped?! The judges would have roasted the person who made that - it's a mouthful of bread with a seasoning of shrimp.
Our waitress was friendly but lacking towards the end and unapologetic when we POLITELY told her how we felt about the food. We were along the lines of, "Yeah, the shrimp was good, but it was so much bread and the fries were incredibly salty." And she didn't say a word, then went right into offering us dessert. Very disappointing service - EXCEPT for the hostess. She was sweet and personable.
Absolutely do not recommend and Emeril, you know better.
