  • I am loving Madison more and more. The locals vacate downtown after work and the parking is free after 6, how bucolic. I don't think I have parked more then 1/2 a block away from anywhere I wanted to eat. A short stroll past the lone homeless man and I was at Graze. It shares the entrance with L'etoile which is the upscale sister restaurant. I like the relaxed casual aura of Graze. All the glass makes eating inside feel outside or you can also opt to eat out side. I luckily picked a spot at the bartenders station and watched all the interesting cocktails being crafted. So inital bummer there was no beer flight to taste their selection of on tap ales but YEA!! they let me taste everything. The sour is really sour; some of the others are very light. I went with the Scotch Ale, yum! I started with the Pork bun... I was expecting a slider but got an abbreviated serving of crisp pork in a chinese style bun... little disappointed, my expectations exceeded reality. It was good but I would not get it again. The mixed green salad was good and standard. Next I ordered a Wolverine and learned I am not a big fan of ginger syrup; I really wanted a margarita. I finished with the Graze burger - delicious. The bottom bun is really just a sponge for all the juices coming oozing out of the burger. I suggest immediately flipping it over because the bottom bun is not very structurally sound once it has soaked up all the love from the burger. I really wanted to have the duck fat bun instead of the brioche. The fries were good. Overall a wonderful meal with a little company from the bartenders. I would have gotten dessert but there was nothing chocolate to my liking. Need to at least have one thing chocolate. Great place and I like the farm to table concept. The menu is good and I want to go back for the chicken and waffles of the smash burger to get the duck fat bun. The steak read to be yummie but pricey.
