This place has slipped significantly.
Usually a spot where my family celebrates birthdays and I entertain clients regularly.
My bone in filet was I under-seasoned and they must be using a new meat supplier because my cut of meat was very chewy.
Waitress was very pushy on the up-sells to entrees. On top of that, she seemed to be trying to push us out of restaurant while neglecting us with a very empty restaurant.
Normally I receive top notch service from this establishment but not sure what has been going on.
The usual highlight of the birthday meal is the beignet tree presentation. This has been replaced with a much smaller "world famous" butter cake that is nowhere near Mastro's actual world famous butter cake. It was a much smaller dessert which makes me think this place is suffering from low traffic which I completely understand now.
I can only hope Steak 44 their sister restaurant has held up, as it is preferred.
